First Holy Communion

First Communion in the Parish of St Thomas More:

This sacrament is offered to all baptised children from Year 4 and above

Children must attend all sessions unless they are unwell. For your child to get the most out of this course they should already be attending Mass on a regular basis and continue to attend Mass throughout the programme and beyond. Hopefully, attending our Children's Liturgy group during the 10:00 AM Mass.

Throughout the course a register of attendance is taken after Mass. Your child can of course attend any of the Saturdays or Sundays Masses if this is more convenient for the family. 5pm Saturday, 10am Sunday or 5.30pm Sunday.

The schedule for the new course is available beginning of September. This is to give everyone the opportunity to organise swimming, football or other extra curricular lessons around the schedule.

The First Holy communion course we provide has 7 children's lessons of an hour and a half each and 4 to 5 parent's evenings. Children lessons are always on Mondays 5:00 pm and parents evenings also on Mondays evening. During parents evening, information about the programme is given together with some inside on the lessons so they are better equipped to help their children with the course.

We are currently looking at more Catechists for the program. We also welcome anyone who wishes to become a regular helper.

We encourage all parents to attend at least one of the children's classes to see how we approach each chapter in their special book and give them an opportunity to take part in the discussions.

For more details, please fill the form below or call/email the Parish office, a catechist will then contact you to answer any queries.
